Why Use Discovery Search to Find eBooks?
- Explore your topic in depth
- Topic is a person, event, social problem, etc.
- Find a book from a specific discipline. A topic can span many disciplines
- Discipline is a specific area of study with its own methods, standards and terminology
How to Find eBooks
- Enter search terms into the main search box. For example: Confederate statues
- From the search results, use the Format menu on the left (or under Group & Refine This Search on smaller screens) to choose eBook
- Select Last 10 Years under the Publication Year menu on the left (or under Group & Refine This Search on smaller screens) to obtain more recent titles
- Read the Summary for a particular eBook to see if it fits your assignment or topic
- Click the Save button to add it to your Saved Items list
- Use the View eBook button
- Read online. Depending on the title and the database it is from, you may also be able to download pages, a chapter or the whole book. Additional apps or software may be required
