Tip -- Call the Library

Contact the MCCC Library at 734-384-4204 for help during hours the library is open.

Call the Information Systems Help Desk at 734-384-4234 or 734-384-4328 for assistance with username or password problems.

Tip -- Login Timeout

If you have tried unsuccessfully to login 3 or more times, take a break. The system will timeout or block your login attempts for at least 30 minutes after three or more unsuccessful logins on your username.

Wait at least thirty minutes before trying again. If you do not wait long enough, each additional password failure restarts the thirty-minute block.

You may call the Information Systems Help Desk at 734-384-4234 or 734-384-4328 for assistance with lockout or other username or password problems.

Tip -- Using a VPN

Use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) may sometimes cause the Library Database Login system to fail. 

Tip -- Check Keyboard for Num Lock

If using a PC or laptop with a physical keyboard to enter a password containing numbers:

  • Use the number keys on the top row of the keyboard OR
  • Be sure the Num Lock key is ON if using the keypad at the far right of the keyboard

Tip -- Find your Username

If you do not know your MCCC username, go to the MyWebPAL page.

Use the What's My User ID? link at the bottom of the page to find your unique campus username. For example, the username for Anyone Lastname might be alastname123.

Note -- your WebPAL account is separate from your campus email, library login or Brightspace accounts, but the username is the same for all of them. Your WebPAL password may be different from the password for the others (be sure to use your Brightspace / campus email password for the library resources login).

 

Tip -- Check Username & Password

  • As of January 2024, you must include "@my.monroeccc.edu" or "@monroeccc.edu" as part of your username.
  • Be sure that any username/password autofill is using the correct information.
    • Firefox (Windows) => application menu (3 horizontal bars) => Passwords, look for monroeccc.idm.oclc.org
    • Chrome (Windows) => Menu (3 vertical dots in upper right) => Settings => Autofill => Passwords, look for monroeccc.idm.oclc.org
    • Edge (Windows) => Settings and More menu (3 dots) => Profiles => Passwords, look for monroeccc.idm.oclc.org
    • Safari (iPhone) => Settings => Passwords, look for monroeccc.idm.oclc.org

Tip -- Try a Different Browser App

Try to login using another browser app, such as Firefox instead of Edge, or Chrome instead of Safari.

Tip -- Clear the Cookies

If you are still having login problems, clear any library login cookies. Those cookies contain "oclc" in their name. 

  • Safari (iPhone): Settings => Safari => Advanced => Website Data => Edit => Search oclc => Swipe to left, Delete
  • Firefox (Windows): Menu (3 bars) => Settings => Privacy and Security => Cookies and Site Data => Manage Data => Search for oclc => Remove selected => Save
  • Chrome (Windows): Customize menu (3 dots upper right) => Privacy and Security => Cookies and Other Site Data => See All Cookies and Site Data => Search for oclc => Remove 
  • Edge (Windows): Settings & More menu (3 dots) => Cookies and site permissions => Cookies and data stored => Manage and delete cookies and site data => See all cookies and site data => Search for oclc => Remove all shown
